Professor Pivo teaches at both the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning and the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona. Professor Pivo was one of the earliest proponents of sustainable real estate investing. He was awarded the prestigious Legacy Award by the American Real Estate Society for a paper he co-authored in 2009, “Income, Value, and Returns in Socially Responsible Office Properties” in the Journal of Real Estate Research.

The Vert Global Sustainable Real Estate Strategy operated as mutual fund from October 31, 2017 and prior to the fund reorganization on December 4, 2023. The investment objectives have not changed.
